On Monday, September 10, 2018, 15 Pakistani scholarship awardees attended pre-departure orientation, organized by the Embassy of Japan. The government of Japan funded various scholarships programs for the Pakistani students to study in Japan. According to this program, the scholarship awarded to the Pakistani students includes MEXT (Ministry Of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology).
MEXT is offering Teachers Training Scholarship Program for 18 months, Young Leaders Program for 12 months and Research Scholarship for 2 to 5 years. One female teacher has been selected for teachers training program (TTP), 3 government officials for young leadership program (YLP) and 18 students from across Pakistan have received direct MEXT scholarship program.
This year in March 2018, 11 Pakistani students have started the research scholarship program. For Masters and PhD levels selected students will also get the scholarships.
Dr.Yasar Ayaz who heads of the robotics department at Nust shared his knowledge and experience for studying in Japan.
Ambassador of Japan, Takashi Kurai, congratulated new scholarship awardees and expressed his hope that this program will lead to enhancing their knowledge and experience. According to him, this program would become a bridge of friendship between the two countries.
